Light It Up

Every home has a unique look. Create cohesion between your home and garage by choosing a light fixture that matches that style. Modern homes look best with straight-lined and simple light fixtures to accentuate the natural material and texture of the home. Traditional styles look best with larger fixtures that have lots of curves and angles to match the classic architecture. Whatever your style, light fixtures offer the opportunity to spotlight your exterior décor.

  5. Reviving an old wooden garage door in good condition. Fir or pine frame. With hard board panels inserts. Scraped old paint off. And cleaned. What is best paint or stain? Semi gloss?

Nice work on getting the garage door all cleaned up. Consider using SuperDeck Exterior Oil-Based Semi-Transparent Stain if you want to go with a stain look and Duration Exterior Acrylic Latex in gloss or semi-gloss for paint.

  6. I have a new steel garage door the color is bronze. To say the least it is not what I was expecting. I want to paint it white. The dealer I purcased the door from said SW paint is used on the doors at the factory and it is baked on. Any advice on painting the door. It does get morning and afternoon sun and no shade until late afternoon. They said to be sure the paint has some heat resistance.

  7. We have hardwood garage doors. We sanded down then tried a Chestnut acrylic stain color on the garage and front door. Didn’t seem to penetrate on the garage doors. Did a couple of coats. It was suggested to try an oil based stain. Do you have the same colors in oil based exterior stains? Could’nt find them.
