We’re giving “home sweet home” a new meaning as the spaces we live in become the backdrop to our lives now more than ever. Whether it’s your place for connecting with nature or the room where your daily to-dos get done, we’re sharing some of our favorite calming room makeovers from you!
Home Office Haven
The upside of home offices? All of the details get picked by you. When you’re looking for a color to give your work-from-home haven a head-to-toe makeover, rich hues are great for blanketing a room in comfort. A classic neutral like Grays Harbor goes with a variety of decor styles and features a blue undertone that puts your mind at ease.
Patio Peace
Create a modern and minimalistic look in your outdoor space with Shoji White. This muted hue embraces elegance to give you a place to relax with those who help you find your inner peace. Complement this shade by using warm wood tones in the seating and decor, so you can bask in your cozy retreat the moment you step outside.
Cottage Hideaway
Nestled between the trees and lined with greenery, this cozy cottage feels like an off-the-grid getaway for taking in the little things. While dark colors can be dramatic and modern, they can also be down to earth and grounding – the trick lies in styling. Tricorn Black takes on a softer look when paired with botanical accents, natural materials and a pop of tranquil color, like Jade Dragon.
Laundry Room Lavish
Make laundry blues a thing of the past with a calming shade like Studio Blue Green. This color adds the perfect amount of airiness to keep your space feeling light and carefree – especially as you’re working through loads of clothes. This stunning laundry and mudroom makeover also makes organization a top priority with open shelving and overhead storage that gives everything a home.
Cooking Up Farmhouse
This bright kitchen carries farmhouse charm from its floor to its ceiling. A softer hue like Light French Gray plays well with other natural looks like wood accents and clean silhouettes. An unencumbered space like this always ties back to the motto of less is more.

What is a good light wall color/off white/Griege that would work with the blue green color? Looking to keep LRV > 62 as the room is northfacing and shaded. Tx ahead of time. Pam
Hello Pam, any of the light greiges in the list below will look great in your space. Look out:
Repose Gray SW 7015
Modern Gray SW 7632
Skyline Steel SW 1015
We are in the beginning stage of determining the interior paint colors for our 2,400 sq ft home. We are thinking shades of white, light-medium grays, darker blue grays, and beach theme blues for our bathrooms. I love your grays and blues here.
Sounds beautiful, Joy! We recommend signing up for a free 30 minute Virtual Color Consultation to help narrow down colors.
I love your website it has wonderful tips. I use Sherman Williams paint love how it goes on. The people at our store in Escanaba Michigan are very helpful and knowledgeable. Keep up with the tips we love them !
Thank you, Jan! We appreciate that.
We have light french grey throughout our home, along with pilgrim haze in our master and eclipse on an accent wall. We’re looking to paint our trim a shade of soft white. We don’t want a crisp or harsh white as we also have lots of beige decor. What whites/creams would add a little warmth while still playing nice with lots of natural light beige and charcoal furniture and a green wooded view. Thank you!!
Hello Rheanna! Take a look at these warm whites, any of which will work with all your finishes. Check out: Roman Column SW 7562, Whitetail SW 7103, and Dover White SW 6385.
Thank you so much!
We have an entryway with tall ceiling and windows facing east. On the surrounding walls we are putting agreeable gray we love how it looks different in each room. On the accent wall we are looking to put a middle of the road dark color that is gray but leans green/blue. Right now we are looking at Rocky River, Studio blue green, Succulent and then BM Night train and porch swing. Will those work with agreeable gray?
Hello Sandy, yes, Agreeable Gray SW 7029 is a medium greige that coordinates well with many families. Rocky River, Studio Blue Green, and Succulent would be beautiful.
Hi – we have a craftsman meets mountain home style exterior. Severe storm damage is forcing paint, roof, etc repair. Cave rock in neutrals (golds, beiges) on part of the house. Currently the siding is former lodge brown with a cabin brown trim and sequoia accents (doors). The roof has just been completed. We had to change from a light tone to darker due to availability. Question is… re-paint main siding a lighter color and dark trim to bring out the light color in the rock? Or go back with same color scheme. Wondering if the roof and paint will be too dark with the light neutral rock.

I have a small 1/2 bath with cream marble floor and pinkish peach wall tiles so far up . I want to repaint the top wall ..right now it matches the peace pink wall tile on the bottom. Wood trim is antique white.
Hi Maxine, do you want to accentuate or ignore the pinkish peach tiles? Is there any way you could attach a photo of your half bath with the floor and tile? Also, what color is the vanity in there and are you open to painting it?
